Every year kpop groups and a Korean ‘Hallyu” convention are held in NY, LA, France, Japan, China, and other countries! I’ve always heard about the event, but I never went until this year. I had a blast and here is my experience at #KCON16:
The KCON event started on July 29 and ended on July 31. Since we had concert tickets for July 31, we decided to go then. Because the concert started at 7:00 PM, we decided to go to the convention which was held at the LA Convention Center before the concert started.
My family and I hanged around at the convention for at least two hours and our family had a great time. We got to experience VR, attend workshops, buy merchandise, win products such as skin care, bottles, etc. We even got to see guest performances and go in the bouncy house!
After the convention and before the concert entrance opened, we went to the food trucks and we saw a lot of delicious Korean street food such as bite sized cakes, bulgogi fries, ttukbokgi which is spicy rice cake.
Ince that day was the last day at KCON, there was a lot of people at the concert. At the beginning of the concert, th KCCLA Taekwondo group performed and it was so awesome! The performers flew up in the air and broke wood. They were probably my mom’s favorite part of the concert.
The artists at the concert that day were Monsta X, Astro, TWICE, Eric Nam, Girl’s Generation: TTS, Davichi, BTS. My favorite was definitely TWICE because I know their songs such as CHEER UP, and Like Ooh Ahh. Also a fun fact, one of the members of TWICE has the same names as me which is JUNGYEON. The concert felt like everyone had a great time and I would recommend it to people who love KPOP, Korean dram, and alll things ‘Hallyu’!
