On Monday July 25, my mom, my sister, and I went to the Getty Villa that is located bear Malibu. My sister and I were so excited because we heard from other people that the view is gorgeous and the art museum was so peaceful. On the way to the Getty Villa, we were delighted by the waves at the beach and the smell of the sea. We enjoyed seeing the beautiful ocean as we headed up the Getty Villa. However, we were more delighted when we first went in the museum. There were a lot of herbs such as lavender and peppermint. There were also nice fountains and it was a very calm serene.
The people at Getty Villa were very kind as they checked our tickets and bags and we were headed inro the exhibits. My sister and I were amazed by the theater stairs and how every wall and floor tile was art. The theme of the museum felt like a Roman Castle!
We first went in to see the Greek gods and godesses and saw marvelous marble statues. We also saw coins. Jewrly, pots, and all sorts of beautiful artifacts. We went to the big fountain an it was the best out of the whole Getty Villa. There were sculptures and a big fountain with grape vines hanging around the perimeter of the fountain. It was so quiet that we could hear the birds chirping and it was awesome!
The difference between the two Gettys is that the Getty Center shows more of the drawings and paintings. It feautures more modern art and the scenery is modern artitechture. The Getty Villa displays more artifacts and the scenery is more of a Roman/Greek artitechture.
Overall, I love just walking through the exhibits and seeing the wonderful scenery at the Getty Villa!
