If you are a fan of "Zootopia" and love the "Minions", Illumination Entertainment has created the
perfect film for you! This week I watched "The Secret Life of Pets" starring Kevin Hart, Louis
C.K., and Eric Stonestreet released on July 8th. Max, a dog is the pet of Katie and they have a
great bond and friendship. However, Max is hurt when Katie brings a new dog from the pound to
their home named Duke. Duke and Max have trouble bonding together in the beginning, but
after some crazy adventures in New York, they become best friends!
Rotten Tomatoes (rating company) gave this movie a 74%. This movie is PG rated and appeals
to kids aged 4-8. My sister, Kate, who is 7 years old thought that it was great. She liked all the
funny scenes consistently throughout the film and she especially liked the part where Duke and
Max went into the sausage factory. She said she would definitely recommend this movie to
other kids her age. I thought that this movie was really good because it had a lot of funny/
appropriate jokes throughout the scenes and even if it was for generally kids, I enjoyed it as
well. I loved the animation where all of the animals were all fuzzy and big eyed. I also liked the
smooth plot of the film where every scene connected to each other. I really liked how this story
taught us about bonding and friendship. Overall, I thought it was amazing and I really would
recommend it to not just little kids, but also adults as well.
